Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging technique that uses sound waves to create real-time images of the inside of the body. It is commonly used for diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions, including pregnancy, organ health, and musculoskeletal injuries.

About the service

Ultrasound, also known as sonography, is a medical imaging technique that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of the inside of the body.

Unlike other imaging methods, such as X-rays or CT scans, ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation, making it a safe and effective diagnostic tool. It is commonly used to assess organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues, and is especially valuable in monitoring the development of a fetus during pregnancy.

Here are the various types of ultrasound services we offer:

  • Abdominal Ultrasound: Used to examine organs such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen. It helps diagnose conditions like gallstones, liver disease, or kidney abnormalities.
  • Abdominal and Pelvic Ultrasound: This combined ultrasound is used to evaluate both the abdominal organs and the pelvic region, including the bladder, uterus, ovaries, and prostate, helping to diagnose issues like urinary tract infections or pelvic pain.
  • Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Focuses on the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints to detect injuries, inflammation, or conditions like arthritis or tendonitis.
  • Surface Ultrasound: Typically used to visualize superficial structures, such as lumps or masses beneath the skin, or to guide needle placement during procedures like biopsies.
  • Thyroid Ultrasound: Used to examine the thyroid gland to detect conditions such as nodules, cysts, or tumors.
  • Testicular Ultrasound: A focused ultrasound to evaluate the testicles for conditions such as pain, swelling, or abnormalities like cysts or tumors.
  • Pelvic Ultrasound: This type is used to view the pelvic organs, including the uterus, ovaries, and bladder. It is helpful in diagnosing conditions such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, or pelvic inflammatory disease.
  • Pregnancy Ultrasound: Commonly known as the prenatal ultrasound, it monitors the development of the fetus, checks for multiple pregnancies, and assesses fetal growth, heartbeat, and overall health during different stages of pregnancy.
